The OBSERVAL project has developed a strong network of experts dealing with the practice of recognition of non-formal and informal learning in nearly all European Member States.

How can the transparency and recognition of qualifications and competences acquired in non-formal and informal learning settings be improved?

Provide a global resource for actors in charge of validation, for policy makers, for social partners and stakeholders Contribute to a common understanding of validation Work on a common language and a common definition of concepts Identify common issues, problems, obstacles Situating the debates in a learning culture and in a European policy context especially the EQF. Reviewing research on the policy and practice of validation and create an annual annotated bibliography and literature review. Promoting an annual European validation prize. During the Final Dissemination Conference the main project results are going to be presented and discussed with a broad range of European experts and stakeholders from all sectors and levels the future trends on validation of non-formal and informal learning in Europe
