Just shortly before the last EUCEN Conference took place in the city of Jönköping (E), another international event was held in their University. The European Forum of the OBSERVAL project (a three year project, which started in November 2007 and which is funded through the Leonardo da Vinci Program) brought together partner experts on the Validation of Nonformal and informal learning covering different educational sectors (HE, VET, 3rd sector) from nearly all European Member States. The two day event was characterized through vivid discussions and presentations about key issues, analyses and exchange of experiences concerning the produced materials within the project.
A highlight was the award of the first Observal Prize for the best case study presenting validation practices of Nonâ formal and informal learning in Europe. Special emphasis was given also to the presentation and discussion of the Observatory, an interactiveâwebsite and database, which will soon provide the opportunity for inâdepths analyses and insights on good practices in the field of Validation of Nonâformal and informal learning throughout Europe. Towards the end of the event, EUCENS President Michel Feutrie outlined the futureâperspectives for the 3rd year within this successful cooperation project.
